On this date 11/19/18 I took my tomato plant home, I put it in soil and I planted it with the green block that. cared for it in the first place, The next day I sheltered my tomato plant due to the excessive rain and I didn't want it to drown. So in that i will put it out in the sun tomorrow and it will nourish and grow.

Spinach, Steak, and bell peppers. the vegetables from MAʻo farms and the steak from Wongs meat market. The most locally grown food I have had, it tasted a little bit different compared to the food that is imported because of the fact that it was more fresh than what I usually had, The juices was better and the juices was more great. The way I got up to this point is due to wrestling because I need to eat healthy now and I seen that locally grown food tasted better and it was better for my body.
What I have learned from the CTAHR research page is that they are UH Manoa students who are trying to make a difference in society. They are researching ways to keep the land better and land whole by planting taro and all kinds of food in the earth, They even have a aquaponics systems which is one of the most efficient ways to grow and sorts of plants, The research was interesting on how they did everything.
As Hawaiians living in a time of technology, we often forgot about our old ways of living as a kanaka mail of Hawaii nei. We know that Hawaii is one of the many beautiful places on this earth and we live in paradise, and we tend to get so caught up in ourselves and our technology that we forget where we come from or where we live at. For the pre field trip I was excited to go and see something I've never seen before I was mainly excited to paddle to the island and back, I was more and more excited when we get to clean the ponds and whatever needed to be done over there but I wanted to see how life on mokauea was because especially have never been there so it would've been a great experience to go and see and I hope we can reschedule the field trip because I really want to see what the life on mokauea has in store for us.
A Hawaiian scientist is someone who cares about all the elements that Rome Hawaii nei in general, (Land, Sea, Sky) They take care of the land by preserving it and make it grow bigger and bigger for our generations coming up but also but taking care of the ocean from all the toxics that can go in there and poison our food supply for the future of our keiki.
Observations up in California 8/24/2018
environment in California? Carson California, The air was muggy and the clouds felt like it was much closer to the ground rather than in the air but when we went to the college for practice we realized that the clouds wasn't the cause of the mugginess it was the smoke from the factories which made a huge difference in the air at California. But not only did we see that we seen a lot of mountains and lands that could be used to make trees or garden but it was just plains and mountains lots of lands but also lots of buildings in the city. Also the culture up there was not so much Aloha but more independent stay over there and mind your own business and don't talk to others the environment wasn't as expected as I wanted but it was fun while it lasted. Mālama honua is being active to take care of the land. Whether its not wasting food to pick up a small piece of trash, a small piece of trash can help you save at least one of the fishes lives or any wild life on this earth, the more trash we pick up the less worries we have on this earth. Mālama honua is also thinking about our future as kanaka and our future generations to come, if we leave this world trashed and dirty thats what will happen to them they will leave it trashed and dirty because we didn't teach them the right way. Me and My family volunteered at to work on beach clean ups for the community and for our waters in Hawaii so that the next time we eat poke the fish doesn't have any trash found inside of them. Something that really brought me into the mālama honua mindset was learning about how to preserve and take care of our land, so far it has taught me through a little sweat and hardworking and dedication you can make something so small grow into something beautiful and fabulous. |
